Show us Your Singles!

I am so excited to be participating in Kelly's Korner's "Show us Your Singles!"  This part of her blog has been so much fun to hear about so I'm excited to be able to blog about my wonderful sister, Renee!!

First and foremost, Renee has a heart for Jesus and for sharing his word.  She's been on many mission trips and loves getting to share her faith and God's love to others.

Renee is a "people person" with a fun personality.  She is a computer business teacher at a High School in the Dallas, TX area.  She also coaches volleyball and basketball at her school.  She stays busy but she still travels the long way back to Arkansas often and has yet to miss any of her niece and nephew's birthday parties which makes her #1 in our house.

I'm still alive!!

I'm still here I promise!  I heard a saying when I was pregnant with my daughter (our second)....when it comes to kids, 1 plus 1 does not equal 2!  Goodness, isn't that the truth!?!  My daughter will be one next week (how is that possible?!?) and I just feel like I can barely keep my head above water with all the things going on.  Sadly, that leaves little time for cookies :(

My husband and I talked about it a few months ago and I decided to take a break for a while.  Maybe a long while.  I just need to focus on my family and enjoy my babies while they're still little.  I'll still do cookies for baby showers in our Sunday School class and for Holidays for our family so I'll still post some cookies!  I'm just not taking orders.  Maybe when my kids get a little older I can get back into it.  We just have so much going on right now....my son is 3.5 and has therapy 3 times a week, Preschool twice a week, he's doing AWANA this year and I'm helping out with that and by the end of the day I am exhausted!

I have one more order this week that I took months ago from a friend of mine from Elementary school so I'll post those when I get them done!  They are Minnie Mouse and I'm excited to do them :)

Hope you all had a great summer and enjoying the beginning of Fall!  This is my favorite time of year!!!

I made these cookies for my dad for Father's Day.  They were up here for the weekend to go to a convention for his work and he played in a golf tournament.

These were so fun to do!

School's Out for Summer

Ok so I'm a little late with this post since tomorrow is July 4th.  But better late than never!
My friend Sammy asked me to do some summer cookies for her son's class at school.  I just did an assortment of summer cookies.

Right before I started these, I saw this post from Sweet Sugar Belle to make Hawaiian shirt cookies and thought they were so fun!!  So I had to try a few to go along with the summer cookies.

Happy 4th of July!!!

Simple Bridal Shower Cookies

My friend Tracy, who is the party queen, asked me to do some cookies for a bridal shower she was hosting.

I thought this shape would be fun!  There was something similar on the invitation.

She wanted some of them to have an S and some not to.

I really like the colors she used!

Baby Shower

My friend Jenna asked me to make some cookies for a baby shower she was hosting.  She wanted some birds and some with the baby's monogram and the baby's name.  She sent me a link to the stationary she was using and it had different patterns on them so I used a few of those for the cookies.

The baby actually has 4 names.  I googled how to do a monogram with 4 names and this is what I found.  I like how they turned out!

The baby's name is Evelyn but they will call her Evie, I think it's so cute!

Go Hogs!

I was asked to make some cookies for a surprise 40th birthday party.  She wanted to surprise her husband with some Razorback cookies.  I thought it would be fun to have a 40 as the number on the jersey :)

Elephant cookies

I did some blue and orange elephants for a baby shower a few weeks ago.  They were actually cookie pops!

They made this cookie bouquet for the shower and sent me a picture.  I thought it turned out SO cute!  I love the peanuts in the basket!!

Summer cookies

The wonderful ladies who keep our kids in the nursery during our weekly women's Bible Study gave us a FREE Mother's Day Out a few weeks ago!!!!  I have to admit, I was counting down the days until this wonderful day!

I made some cookies for them to enjoy while they loved on our kids :)  I thought suns and flip flops were appropriate!  We appreciate y'all SO much!!!!

Popcorn cookies

Wednesday was my son's last day of Mother's Day Out.  I really feel like he just started!  Next year he'll be in Preschool.  So hard to believe!

I made some popcorn cookies for his teachers to go into a little gift basket.  I saw these cookies and thought they would be fun!

This is the movie night gift basket I made each teacher.  Here's where I got the idea.
I was in a hurry to take these pictures but it says, "Spiderman, Batman, pick one to see.  You are a SUPERHERO to me!"  When I saw this idea, I knew I really wanted to do it.  Our son, Caleb, overcame an eating issue this year and we are SO thankful!!!  When he started the school year, he was eating pureed baby food and drinking milk, and that's it.  He has been in speech and occupational therapy for a year and a half because he had a severe gag reflex and in January he finally started eating!  I knew that being around kids his own age and watching them eat and having teachers that were willing to work with him would make a huge difference and it did.  I know it got really messy for a while and we appreciate them so much!  Thank you Ms. Karen and Ms. Sally!!!!

Hope you all had a great Mother's Day!  We had a big weekend seeing family and dedicating our sweet baby girl!  Here are some cookies I made for my mom.  I made another one for my Mother-In-Law too.

Here's a close-up of the bouquet.  I saw these cookies and wanted to try it!

Giraffes and Elephants

I know I've not posted in a long time!  Both of my kids were sick for what seemed like forever.  And we've just been busy lately.  I'm going to try and catch up!

A few weeks ago I did some fun polka dot giraffes and elephants for a baby shower.

They were a lot of fun.  The invitation had lots of different patterns that I used as inspiration.

Cars

My friend Mary Avery asked me to do some Cars cookies for her son's birthday party on Saturday.  She had found these cookie cutters and I was so excited to make them!

It was so fun to do these!

Sadly, we didn't get to go to the party.  My son woke up sick yesterday so we had to miss it.  I was so sad!

Happy birthday John Michael!!

Yay Hey, No Way!

Yo ho mateys away!  There'll be treasure and adventure today!

Yes, I could type out the whole song to "Jake and the Neverland Pirates."  And if you have a Pre-schooler I'm sure you could too!  My son loves "Pirates" as he calls it.  I think it's kinda cute too, I like when Izzy says, "Yay hey, no way!" (Hence the title of the post).

On to the cookies...

My friend Vonda asked me to make some pirate cookies for her son Brandon's birthday party.  I was so excited when she asked me because I had just found this tutorial on easy pirate cookies!  I love how simple they are but so cute!  If you haven't looked through Sweet Sugar Belle's blog, you need to!  She is amazing and gives great tutorials.  She has really good ones for beginners.  And I love how creative she is with cookie cutters, using them for different cookie designs.

And I saw her pirate ship cookies here.  For the black marks on the wood, I used an edible marker and I love the detail that adds.

Happy birthday Brandon!

Simple but Sweet

We had a baby shower for my friend Amber a few weeks ago.  She just welcomed her third baby boy last week!  These are the cookies I did for the shower.  They were simple little onesies but I like how they turned out :)

You are My Sunshine

My friend Hillary asked me to do some cookies for her daughter's first birthday.  She did a really cute theme, You are My Sunshine.  She sent me the invitation and I LOVE the sunshine with a bow!!  So cute!

She did a yellow and white chevron design and also turquoise so I tried to match those colors.

I'm pleased with how my chevron design came out.  It was my first time to try it but I think next time I'll do it a little differently.  Oh well, I think you can still tell it's chevron :)
